Interview 32

The refugees use the park on a daily basis. The park is a place where they can relax and get rid of the atmosphere in the camp. The park is a place where they can forget about their family and loved ones they have left behind. The refugees come in groups to the park, where they can talk to each other. They are really looking forward into learning the language, but they can’t find any support or mentoring to do so. Their current situation doesn’t put them in the position to be more involved or more caring about the neighborhood. Their priorities differ in terms of being unsecure and with the following question in their minds: are we going to see our family back?
When it gets dark, most of them go back to the camp. They don’t want to be the cause of any trouble in the neighborhood.
